Maths Tutor - Karen

I am a very experienced teacher with over 20 years’ experience at both primary and secondary schools within the Kirklees area.

I am currently the head Computer Science at a large primary school, and I have previously been the head of Computer Science, Business Studies, Careers and Work Related Learning in at Secondary level.

I joined Brainboost at the start of the year as I found that I had rediscovered my love of Maths by home schooling my child during lockdown and decided to pursue this at Brainboost.  As a private tutor, I specialise in helping students who struggle with Maths, build the key skills to move forward. I am skilled in a range of teaching methodologies to create engaging and accessible learning for pupils. I focus on building strong foundational skills, identifying and improving gaps in knowledge and barriers to learning by adapting my teaching methods to the needs of my pupils.

I am passionate about providing outstanding tuition for all children. For me, it is just as important for all children to enjoy the experience of learning as well as enjoying seeing their progress during the course of their learning journey. I pride myself that myself and the teachers all share the same vision.

English Tutor - Katie

I have a BA Hons in Primary Education and have a decade of experience teaching pupils across Key Stage Two. I have taught children with a range of abilities and needs and I adopt a creative approach when teaching through fostering curiosity and imagination.  

I am a compassionate, patient and adaptable teacher who thrives on providing children with the resources, support and encouragement to succeed. I have had many successful years with SATs results and pupils making accelerated progress within my classes. 

I have joined Brainboost tutoring this year to support pupils with English and to develop their confidence in order to achieve their full potential.
