Where does the tutoring take place?

The tutoring takes place in our own learning center, The HUB, located in suite #250 3355 West Broadway.

Who are your tutors?

  • The tutors all have extensive experience working with kids
  • Many are pursuing a career in an education-related field.
  • All of our tutors are avid information seekers and voracious students of the world. They are interested in lots of things and have many areas of localized knowledge.
  • All of our tutors are trained in the art of one-on-one tutoring, how to make math understandable, the philosophy of teaching, the basics of efficient organization and BrainBoost standards.
  • All of our tutors care greatly about their students' success and give ample time to prepare for their sessions. They also attend training meetings, department meetings and meetings with the case managers of their students.

What sets you apart from other tutoring companies?

  • As well as providing tutoring for students wanting extra support, we specialize in students who have a learning disability, chronically underachieve in school, need to be challenged and/or are disengaged with the world and/or school.
  • We come from no specific educational framework, but rather have a student-centered approach which guides the program right from the beginning, and informs all changes as they are necessary. We will bring in specific teaching frameworks when necessary and change our approach to match the specific need of the student at that time.
  • We will design a personalized program that targets whichever behavior or behaviors you would like help with.
  • We thrive on feedback. Feedback from the student and parents inform our approach the whole way through and allow us to make adjustments whenever they are necessary
  • Our work is informed by the latest research in learning disabilities, educational psychology and cognitive science which all the tutors learn about in our meetings.
  • We don't only tutor! We offer a variety of programs including: Homework Help, Yoga, full-time or part-time schooling, and community programs.

How many times will my child need to come in each week?

This depends. During the intial consultation, we will suggest a recommended program to attain the goals in the chosen upon time frame. Ultimately, the decision is up to you.
